Bindings
Splitboards bindings are one of the most important parts. These last years' advancement is not to put at the level of the splitboards but to the very level of bindings.
There are several categories:
- The Voilé system. Bindings slide on the pucks (plastic studs) to switch to "sliding down" mode. Brands like Voilé with the Speed Rail, K2 with the Far Out, or Spark/Burton with the Hitchhiker use this system.
- The Union system, a different interface from Voilé's, the binding needs to pivot to be locked.
- The owner system, like Plum or Karakoram who evelopped their own interface, more ergonomic to switch from "climbing" mode to "downhill" mode, and more precise because the binding is directly set on the splitboard (no raising nor sideways movement). This is what is best.
We try to have all the Splitboard binding on the market : Plum, Karakoram, K2, Union, Burton
